London United takes Florida

London United takes America is a reality television show about a diverse group of aspiring footballers from in and around London, that travel to Florida to play games against college and professional opposition. The trip is with the purpose of being spotted by a professional club for a contract, or a college in the hopes of winning a full athletic scholarship, in which they will be able to further their education whilst still pursuing their lifelong dream of playing football at the professional level.

London United is an elite academy that I started in 2006 for talented football players from in and around the London area who are looking for a second chance in football. London United has a diverse group of players, some who have already played football at a professional level and are looking for a second chance. London United have successfully placed over thirty players back into professional clubs and have gotten over twenty players full athletic scholarships to top American University, most notably recently retired 2009 MLS Super Draft 1st pick, Steve Zakuani formally of the Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers.

Steve Zakuani is one of the many London United success stories of a player who was at Arsenal as a youngster but was released for being too small. Heartbroken from being released from his childhood club, he got on the wrong side of the law, but was introduced to London United by and old Arsenal team-mate and turned his life back around for the good. Zakuani got a full athletic scholarship to Akron University in Ohio and after 1 stellar season, he was drafted to the MLS signing his first professional contract and a sponsorship deal with Adidas, achieving his childhood dream.
