London to Mecca

London to Mecca follows the journey of London-born, Abdul Gafaar, who embarks to the Holy land of Mecca to perform one of the five pillars of Islam, Hajj. Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca and a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all adult Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey and can support their family during their absence. Abdul Gafaar is one of the lucky ones, in which he has already been to the Holy city of Mecca to perform Hajj, but this was when he was a little boy, now an adult how does he cope. The journey follows Abdul from the morning he wakes up to catch his flight from Heathrow airport, to the camps in Mina, and to the final Tawaf.
